The Master's Series, an annual series of two-day workshops, provides an opportunity for behavior analysts of all levels of expertise and experience to improve their verbal and non-verbal behavior by learning from some of the masters in our field. Psychologists, speech-language pathologists, educators, residential care providers, and parents also have an opportunity to greatly improve their knowledge and skills. Each workshop is based on scientifically validated principles and procedures, and includes sections for beginning, intermediate, and advanced level participants. Certified Behavior Analysts and Associate Behavior Analysts can earn 12 CEUs (the entire annual requirement).

The inaugural workshop in this series was held in Orlando, Florida, USA, on March 10-11, 2005, and featured Dr. Mark Sundberg, the co-author of Teaching Language to Children with Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities.

The second annual workshop was held, again in Orlando, on March 9-10, 2006, and featured Dr. Bill Heward, the co-author of Applied Behavior Analysis, often referred to as "the white book".

The third annual workshop was held on March 19-20, 2007, again in Orlando. This workshop featured Dr. Tim Vollmer, Dr. Merrill Winston, and Dr. Patrick McGreevy. Dr. Vollmer described often-overlooked issues that can increase the effectiveness of behavioral interventions. Dr. Winston helped us make some 'sense' of the DSM-IV and understand the functions of psychoactive medications. Finally, Dr. McGreevy described the current state of ABA-Verbal Behavior and some directions for the future. Dr. Eb Blakely was scheduled to present, but was unable to do so because of a family medical emergency.

The fourth annual workshop will feature Drs. Mark Sundberg and Vince Carbone. Details will follow in a few days.
